What a crazy NBA season so far! Blockbuster trades, dramatic finishes, and a tight race to see who is going to make the playoffs. And to think, the fun is just beginning! Let’s take a look at some of my favorite teams to bring home the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Coming out of the East– Usually the West is a powerhouse, but man has that changed. With the Celtics and Bucks looking like 2 dominant forces, it is very hard to not take them seriously. I don’t know how Giannis does it year after year without establishing a reliable jumpshot but man, he has done it again. With the defensive help of Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis scoring the way they have, they are going to be tough to stop! On the other hand, we have the Celtics, in my opinion the most complete team in the NBA. They have GREAT scoring at the wings, tough point guard play and some great role playing big men. If I had to choose who comes out of the East I am going to give the edge to the Celtics.
Coming out of the West- The West is very interesting this year, it seems like everyone has a different team that they think should be favorites. It seems like the only team that no one is taking seriously is the #1 seeded Denver Nuggets. I hate to admit it, but I tend to agree with the public. I think the Nuggets are an extremely deep team and very talented, but I think they are missing that go to scorer that you can go to for a bucket at any time. I may be a bit of a homer here, but I love the Phoenix Suns coming out of the West. I think they have the best starting 5 in the NBA and if they can remain healthy throughout the playoffs, they have as good of a shot as anyone to bring it home. Bring my man KD another ring and another Finals MVP!
