Core Workout

There are a million different ab workouts that many live and die by, but with so many different movements how do you decide which ones to do? I personally like to switch it up quite a bit when it comes to core work. There are so many different core movements that target different muscles so it is important to be open to a wide range of different movements. I typically like to pick 4 core movements to use in my circuit and complete the circuit 3 times with little rest between movements. Typically I usually give myself 15 second rest between movements and a minute rest after completing the circuit before I start it again. This is a good balance between exhausting your abs during the movements but also giving your core time to recover to complete the circuit. I posted an example of a core circuit I like to do above that include flutter kicks, twists, V-up/roll-up combo, and alternating toe touches. All of these movements will strengthen your core, but unfortunately what they say is true, abs are made in the kitchen. So let’s work on this circuit and focus on our diet to get those abs showing just in time for summer!!!

Core Circuit: Repeat 3 times

  • 1 min Flutter Kicks
  • 50 Twists
  • 25 reps of V-up/Roll-up Combo
  • 25 Alternating Toe Touches
